閉鎖的で見通しが効かなかった学園の正門を改修。キャンパスを貫く軸線に沿って街を引き込むように弧を描き、曖昧だった歩車動線を引き直して歩行者優先のスペースをつくった。
次第に細く低くなる薄い二つの屋根や伐採した樹木を再利用したベンチ、芝の丘等により、学生や園児だけでなく地域住民のアクティビティを創出する場となり、シンボリックな明かりを灯す。自然に人が滞留する「とまり木」のような正門を目指した。
Main Gate Plaza en
The main gate of the school, which was closed and lacked visibility, was renovated. The arc was drawn along the axis that runs through the campus to draw the city in, and the ambiguous pedestrian and vehicular traffic lines were redrawn to create a space that gives priority to pedestrians. The two thin, low roofs, benches made from reused logs, and a grass hill create a symbolic light that creates activities not only for students and children, but also for the local community. We aimed to create a main gate like a “perching tree” where people naturally stay.
